The former body of Jiangsu Tianyu Energy and Chemical Group Co., Ltd was Xuzhou Huanyu Molybdenum Industry Group. Xuzhou Huanyu Molybdenum Industry Group was founded on the foundation of Xuzhou Huanyu Special Alloy Co., Ltd and its subsidies in August, 2004. It is the first private Sino-foreign joint venture in Xuzhou, and is also one of Xuzhou Key Enterprises, one of the Advanced Enterprise Which Earn Foreign Exchange Through Export, one of the Top Ten Taxpaying Enterprises, “AAA” Leveled Credit Enterprise of Jiangsu, one of the Top Ten Industrial Enterprise of Xuzhou. In December 1997, the enterprise passed ISO9002 Quality Certification System, in July 2002, it passed OHSMS Occupational Health and Safety Management Certificate System, and in 2008, it had the permission to coking industry.

Jiangsu Tianyu Energy and Chemical Group Co., Ltd was a private enterprise which is mainly held by investment, with a total asset of 4.5 billion yuan. It has ten subsidiary holding companies, namely, Xuzhou Huanyu Molybdenum Industry Group, Xuzhou Huanyu Coking Co., Ltd, Xuzhou Guanmao Coking Co., Ltd, Xuzhou Senyu Alloy And Steel Co., Ltd, Xuzhou Chunyu Coal Washing Co., Ltd, Xuzhou Tianan Chemical Industry Co., Ltd, Xuzhou Huayu Coal gas co., ltd and so on. Its products involve in coking, chemical industry, mine exploiting, raw iron smelting, casting, machine manufacturing, investment & acquisition and other fields. Its annual production volume of hard coke is 3 million tons, empyreumatic oil 0.145 million tons, crude benzene 0.035 million tons, thiamine 0.03 million tons, coal gas 1 billion cubic meters, raw iron 0.1 million tons, and thus the company has formed a coal, coke and iron industrial chain.
